The VR identity team is responsible for the identity platform and experiences for all Oculus headsets, as well as the backend infrastructure to power identity services across consumer and enterprise scenarios. The team is an area of strategic investment and is scaling up rapidly to support the requirements of our fast-growing business. We are accelerating product investments in social experiences, privacy, integrity and security. Were looking for a Software Engineering Manager who is invested in the success of their team, has technical experience in account or identity management, and is passionate about customer experience. An ideal candidate has experience building software platforms, managing production systems, and thrives in an ambiguous, opportunity-rich environment. You will support a full-stack software engineering team responsible for the design, implementation and quality of fundamental services and user experiences. Identity is core to the product - you will have the opportunity for broad impact on the organization and the business.

Manager, Software Engineering, AR/VR - VR Identity Responsibilities

* Lead collaboration with multi-functional teams of engineers, product managers, designers, and data scientists to create compelling experiences

* Manage engineers and help them develop their careers, assigning them to projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles

* Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing process for regular assessment and improvement

* Establish a solid project framework and excellent development processes. Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams

* Contribute to long-term product and technical strategy. Set direction for you team while staying on top of the day-to-day software development

Minimum Qualifications

* 8+ years of software engineering work experience, including experience delivering large projects from planning through implementation and operational support

* 2+ years of hands-on experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

* Hands-on experience with authentication, identity management, security, and/or privacy

* Experience delivering software on at least one PC, console, or mobile platform, especially Android

* Full-stack experience developing both back-end services and client applications

* Varied experience contributing to products and platforms, and experience advocating for both customer and developer needs

* Works well in a fast-paced inter-disciplinary environment
