Minimum Qualifications
Education: One (1) completed unit with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE); Three (3) to nine (9+) months or more of ACPE
Licenses/Certifications: (None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
* One (1) year of prior pastoral experience preferred
* Ability to minister in an ecumenical setting

Principal Accountabilities
* Will serve as relief chaplain to full-time and part-time chaplains as needed either on-call from home or in-house.
* Provides spiritual, religious, and emotional care to patients, families, and staff by offering patient and family visitation.
* May participate in and provide pastoral guidance & support to physicians, patients, families and hospital staff involved in the decision-making process within the realm of the ethical dilemmas inherent in healthcare.
* Interacts with interdisciplinary teams and medical staff both providing and receiving information to ensure the appropriate integrated care of patients and families.
* Participates in ongoing review of ministry, thus ensuring that TJC standards pertaining to spiritual care are adequately addressed by Chaplaincy Services.
* Abides by all federal regulations for patient privacy.
* Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
* Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
