General Job Description:

A full-time clinical research coordinator (CRC) position iscurrently available in the Massachusetts General Hospital Division ofInfectious Diseases in collaboration with the Gastrointestinal Division. TheCRC will serve as a leading team member for clinical research protocols relatedto liver disease, specifically working with a research group that spans bothdivisions. This position fits within a team of clinical research coordinators,a data manager, and project manager and work directly with patients, providers,and investigators in the context of a large academic medical center.

Projects Include:

* Maintaining a sample repository for a 25+ yearold longitudinal study looking at cellular immunityin viral infections.
* Enrolling subjects in a study looking at long term memory responses toSARS-CoV-2 infection
* Maintaining a sample repository for a study looking at maternal immunity against virusesand vaccines
* Recruitingsubjects for larger blood donation studies looking at immunological markersagainst viral Hepatitis using Leukapheresis and buffy coats
* Helpingestablish a Hepatitis C DNA Repository

Specific duties include:

* Screen,recruit, enroll, track, and follow subjects for research study per studyprotocol.
* Performphlebotomy on subjects; process and ship specimens.
* Managestudy operations and ensure integrity of study
* Managesubject retention per protocol
* FacilitateInstitutional Review Board submission process by preparing protocolapplications, protocol amendments, safety reports, adverse event reports andother required documents, working with the Principal Investigators (PI),Project Director (PD), and other Research Coordinators/Data Managers.
* Manageand maintain regulatory documents for audit by sponsor or FDA.
* Actas the primary liaison for study subjects to communicate about the study.
* Arrangeand conduct initial interviews of study subjects and evaluate criteria forinclusion/exclusion per study protocol; coordinate subsequent assessments ofsubjects as outlined in study protocol.
* Assesssubjects health through interviews; take subjects vital signs.
* Administersurvey tools and interview guides, collect and enter data, and complete intimely fashion.
* Collectblood and tissue samples from subjects and transport to appropriate lab
* Evaluatemedical records and laboratory results for study relevant clinical data.
* Coordinatesubject care by scheduling follow-up assessments and communicating concernsabout the subject with the study investigator and the subjects primary careprovider.
* Maintainsubject charts and other data per the protocol and assess data for quality andcompleteness.
* Workwith study investigators to determine the feasibility of new projects.
* Conductongoing review of study progress and provide investigators with progressreports.
* AssistPI and PD by preparing regular presentation materials and reports.
* Otherduties as assigned

Qualifications:

* Bachelorsdegree
* 2+ ofrelated work experience OR the equivalent combination of education andexperience preferred
* Knowledgeof issues involved in clinical research (regulatory requirements, IRB, studymonitoring) preferred
* Excellentcommunication skills (both written and oral)
* Abilityto work as both a member of a team and independently
* Excellentorganization skills and attention to detail
* Abilityto be flexible and adaptable to fluctuating environments
* Abilityto balance multiple priorities, deadline pressures
* Proficiencywith PCs and windows-based software, including Excel and Word
* Experiencewith REDCap, StudyTRAX, FreezerWorks, or comparable programs preferred
* Experiencewith Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
