Bolivar Medical Center
This position will require the applicant to be a Certified Nursing Assistant.
This position also requires that the applicant become competent in phlebotomy within the first 6 months of hire. (Phlebotomy training onsite)
* Provides general nursing assistant care such as positioning patients, lifting and turning patients, applying/ utilizing special equipment, assisting in use of bedpan, commode and ambulating patients.
* Prepares patients for meals, serves and removes food trays and assists with meals or feeds patients as necessary.
* Answers patient call lights, anticipates patient's needs and makes rounds of assigned patients.
* Transports patients to various departments for ordered tests/procedures.
* Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, blood pressure and intake-output.
* Reports patient complain of paid to supervising LPN/RN.
* Observes patients' mental and physical conditions, reports any changes to supervising RN.
* Communicates in a clear and concise manner to LPNs, RNs and medical staff.
Within six (6) months of hire, applicant will be able to show proficiency in phlebotomy.
* Be able to select gauge needles, prepare veins to draw blood, assess patient needs and review patient history and reasons for drawing blood.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED Required
Current Mississippi Certified Nursing Assistant License Required
BLS Required
Competency in Phlebotomy (Required within 6 months of hire)- Will be trained onsite
* This position requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
