Wythe County Community Hospital
The Monitor Tech performs secretarial, receptionist and clerical duties on the Medical Surgical Unit. She/he monitors the heart rate and rhythm for patients on Cardiac Telemetry. Interprets rhythm strips and reports any changes or arrhythmias to the charge nurse and/or primary nurse. She/he assists the charge nurse in coordinating patient care on the unit. Works closely with all nursing personnel, medical staff, ancillary staff, patients and/or patients families.
Job Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Completed course in medical terminology/equivalent experience
* Basic keyboarding/typing skills equivalent to 20 wpm
* Basic computer skills
* Basic Cardiac Telemetry Monitoring skills, and completes Basic Telemetry course annually
* At least one year of previous clerical experience preferred

The HSC is organized to bring resources to bear across the continuum of care, from before a patient accesses healthcare services to after they are sent home, while keeping quality and compliance at the center.
