Your Role and Responsibilities
Software Developer working on a new squad of developers as part of the development tribe responsible for `IBM Kubernetes Container Service`, `RedHat OpenShift on IBM Cloud` and `IBM Cloud Satellite` managed services. You will be part of the initial design and development of a new solution with these products and will interact with cutting edge technology (including Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, ETCD, nginx, etc). This role includes designing, coding, testing, and supporting the service. We are looking for a motivated candidate willing to get started right away! Your responsibilities will be:
* Collecting new requirements for a highly sought after federal government project and understanding stakeholders needs to dictate the design.
* Coordinating with squad members on overall development goals
* Managing Kubernetes cluster deployments across a distributed infrastructure
* Collaborating with multiple other squads who will be affected by the teams deliverables.
Working with the technical architects and executive team to communicate the impacts and architectural changes required to deliver the project for our existing services.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* 5+ years of experience in overall software development
* 4+ years of experience in back end & Linux development
* 3+ years of development experience in a cloud environment
* Knowledge of Kubernetes and OpenShift technologies
* Knowledge of DevOps concepts and methodologies
* Great communication skills
* Experience with agile methods, iterative development and continuous integration
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
* 5+ years of back end & Linux development in a cloud environment
* 3+ years of experience in Kubernetes and OpenShift development
* 3+ years experience in CI/CD methodology including Jenkins and Travis CI
* Experience using Docker to build and run applications
* Experience with IT automation systems like Ansible
* Experience with Test-Driven Development and Pair Programming
