Job Summary
SUMMARY: Radiology Aide/Student Technologist works under direct supervision of a licensed technologist and/or supervisor. Duties may vary from performing radiologic studies to clerical duties as requested. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists radiologists and technologists, as directed, to produce radiographs for diagnosis. 2. Performs radiographic procedures only after demonstrating competency in clinical training. 3. Performs procedures following department protocols for positioning, technical setting and views. 4. Operates radiographic equipment according to acquired skills, as directed. Does not operate unfamiliar equipment unless properly trained. 5. Develops or assists with development of film according to departmental standards. Process CR image plates on Direct View CR900/or CR800 Kodak systems. 6. Maintains appropriate records, as required. 7. Practices radiation safety at all times. 8. Complete examination ion RIS and verify all CR/DR procedures on PACS. 9. Works in ancillary areas of department, as needed. 10. Follows TMH and department policies and procedures. 11. Works cooperatively, as part of the team, to maintain a work environment that promotes mutual respect and professionalism. 12. Demonstrates the components of the I CARE values statement. 13. Follows all safety rules while on job. 14. Other duties as requested. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED equivalent EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Enrolled in an AMA approved school of radiologic technology CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: N/A CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: N/A WORKING : Must be able to stand and walk for entire shift; reach, bend and lift heavy food containers (50 lbs). Transports food carts for meal service through corridors and elevators to food prep areas.
