What does a great Sr. Application Analyst do?

A great Sr. Application Analyst drives the organization forward with innovative design, ideas that improve our existing code and mentorship of a group of Database Analysts/developers. You will perform IBM mainframe end-to-end life cycle for the production of software and applications for Fiservs state of the art enterprise dispute processing system.





As a Sr. Application Analyst, you can look forward to:

* Managing the complete software development process from conception to deployment based on user requirements
* Managing the Maintaining and upgrading the applications/software following deployment
* Overseeing and guiding the analyzing, writing, building, and deployment of software with offshore resources
* Overseeing the automated testing and providing feedback to management during the development process
* Producing efficient and elegant code based on requirements
* Testing and deploying programs and applications
* Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining and improving existing software
* Developing technical documentation to guide future software development
* Working within the IBM Mainframe Systems: in COBOL, JCL, CICS, SQL, z/OS, DB2, IDMS, Assembler, VSAM, XML, TSO/ISPF, MQ
* Using the following mainframe Tools: Endeavor, Easytrieve, REXX, CA-7, Metavante Custom Statement Formatter, Dialogue, Network Data Mover (NDM), Rational Developer of System z (RDz), IBM Debug tool for z/OS, IBM Fault Analyzer, IBM File Manager, IBM Application Performance Analyzer, Syncsort, SPUFI



Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
* Experience in Financial/Banking Sector preferably in payments services and credit/debit card processing
* 6+ years of experience in enterprise application development
* Excellent knowledge of the software development life cycle
* Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills
* Experience with Waterfall development methodology
* Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team



Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:

* Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
* Experience or in-depth understanding of credit/debit card disputes processing
* Knowledge of distributed systems technologies like HTML5, javascript, XML and MQ is a plus
* Knowledge of Kanban Methodology (Kanban Boards in particular)
