Responsibilities: (Strategic, Product and Applications)
Responsible for the Thin Ceramics applications and market vision, strategy and annual plan in accordance with the overall Research and Business Group guidance.
Set a vision for the business, create a business plan, set critical path milestones and execute against those milestones
Build attractive and profitable businesses selling Thin Ceramics as keystone components to downstream applications
Define Strategy for device substrates (Alumina and alumina-compatible) Thin Ceramic product line and for other thin ceramic materials as appropriate with a focus on ecosystems and how to penetrate Value Chain
Work closely with Research and Development groups to define product quality attributes critical for emerging customer applications
Ensure alignment with emerging applications globally, working with New Business Development in Asia in particular
Provide key input for capacity planning for Thin Ceramic globally
Prepare a yearly product plan documenting the business environment, identifying key strategies/initiatives/objectives and executing the same.
(Financial) Responsible for managing Thin Ceramic P&L targets.
Create a proforma P&L that ties to the business plan and critical path milestones
Account management for all commercial customers
Responsible for defining and achieving strategic and annual pricing objectives in accordance with the overall strategy.
Lead strategy and decisions for customer pricing, sample pricing and long-term pricing guidance for all thin ceramic materials
Create value propositions that warrant price premiums to Thin Ceramic customers for all applications.
Analyze business financial performance including product costs, sales price and fixed overhead expenses to identify and prioritize actions/initiatives that maximize product line profitability.
(Leadership, Program & Platform) Lead the Definition of the Thin Ceramic Business Strategy
Employ an entrepreneurial mindset and grow the business with a sense of urgency
Use sound judgment based on good data to balance maximizing short-term and long-term revenue and profit for Corning optimized for each application segment
Build a fit for purpose organization capable of executing on the critical path milestones
Define the business strategy options for major application segments and lead the analysis of those options to guide decision makers in selecting the right business strategy for each segment
Define and own the Thin Ceramic S&A Plan and Objectives and manage other business planning leads and consultants as appropriate
Participate on the Core Program Strategy and Leadership team to ensure alignment between Commercial, Technology, Development, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, including sample and application prioritization
Provide updates to Thin Ceramic Steering Team and Key stakeholders
Required Education
BS in a technical field MBA preferred PhD optional
Required Experience
5 7 years successful track record as a building of businesses, ie entrepreneurial and/or intrapreneurial experience
Travel
Can be up to 30% (post pandemic) domestic and international
