The Boeing Company is searching for an Experienced Air Breathing Propulsion Engineer to accomplish propulsion system support and analysis as part of a larger flight science team in the St. Louis area.
Main area of focus will be in the Air Breathing Propulsion System Support and Analysis group as part of a larger flight science team.
Position Responsibilities:
* Define requirements for propulsion systems, auxiliary power systems and air breathing systems.
* Define, coordinate and control the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and vehicle.
* Develop specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
* Configure/design propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance criteria.
* Use various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance.
* Perform certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components.
* Support fielded systems to assure continued reliability.
* Develop concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
* 5+ years of experience working in Fuel Systems or Propulsion Systems.
* Experience with jet engines and/or fuel system mechanical operation fundamentals.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* Active Top Secret Clearance
* Propulsion ground and flight test
* Propulsion analysis
* Propulsion integration design
* Propulsion system installation
* Propulsion system support
* Experience with field support or working in a field support environment
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work independently
