The Opportunity

The Data Analytics Auditor II as part of the Data Analytics and Automation (DAA) team is primarily responsible for executing data analytics on audits of Ally's business lines and enterprise / independent risk management functions and assisting in innovation and automation efforts across Ally Audit. The DAA team is responsible for data identification, data extraction, data processing, and analytics (descriptive, predictive & prescriptive) in support of conclusions on the adequacy and efficiency of internal controls and risk management.

The Work Itself

* Perform data exploration and analytics using industry standard tool such as ACL Analytics, SAS, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Excel or other data analytics tools
* Assist in the execution of the DA plan, automated testing, and Continuous Monitoring through the use of data analytics and automation
* Independently analyze data to determine trends, variances, and inconsistencies
* Communicate progress, findings, and results of assigned test work to senior DA team members and DA Manager in a timely manner
* Participate as a team member on DA program related process improvement projects crafted to meet departmental needs
* Serve as data source SME by acquiring key source system data as requested by audit teams and supporting Audit's data management processes
* Understand and follow Ally Audit Services methodology as well as IIA standards
* Maintain and improve professional skill level through ongoing education and training activities to support departmental needs
* Complete assigned ad hoc projects timely and accurately

The Skills You Bring

* 1+ years of relevant experience within the financial services industry and/or public accounting
* Experience with relevant analytics tools including, but not limited to, ACL Analytics, Tableau Business Intelligence Tool, and PowerBI. Other industry tool experience (i.e., BI Publisher, Cognos, Spotfire, Qlikview, SQL, SAS, Python, R) desirable
* Familiarity with Data Warehouse and Data Mart concepts
* Expertise with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required, Access and Sharepoint preferred)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong written and verbal communications skills
* Ability to excel both as an individual contributor and in highly interactive team environments
* Detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed and organized
* Ability to understand risk and control concepts
* Bachelor's Degree in related field (Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics)
* Limited travel required
