Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Maintain an up to date understanding of assigned business areas, products, and supporting functions; Participate in the planning and scoping of audits, including leading stakeholder meetings, creating risk-based test procedures and establishing project budgets; Execute audit fieldwork, including control design assessment, control effectiveness testing and outcomes-based testing, ensuring audit fieldwork is focused on the right areas; Evidence test results ensuring that documentation meets high quality standards; Assess and ensure that policies and procedures are designed, interpreted and carried out correctly; Identify risks, assess mitigating controls, and make recommendations on improving the control environment; Prepare commercially effective audit conclusions and findings, and present to IA senior management and business stakeholders; Maintain stakeholder relationships, including follow-up on open audit findings and verification of their resolution; Perform continuous monitoring to assess changes which impact the control environment; Participate in department-wide initiatives aimed at continually improving IAs processes and supporting infrastructure.
Job Requirements: Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or Economics. Three (3) years of experience in the role offered or a related auditing role for a large financial services and/or accounting firm. Prior experience must include at least three (3) years with: Applying knowledge of financial products and services such as asset management and private wealth management; Working in a team environment and demonstrating ownership and accountability for tasks assigned; Utilizing knowledge of risk assessment fundamentals to assess risk and controls for financial services businesses; Performing data analysis to identify trends and variances for market or financial information such as revenue, expenses, and PnL; Working with the applicable rules and regulations issued by the Federal Reserve System and other regulatory agencies (including at least one of the following: FRB, NY State Department of Financial Services, Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, FDIC, CFPB); Utilizing audit techniques, including data analysis, re-performance, observation, interviewing, and tools such as MS Office to identify business risks and analyze controls within operational areas in the financial services industry; Applying knowledge of US GAAP for financial statement reporting; Presenting audit conclusions to senior management and business stakeholders; Demonstrating ability to share knowledge with team members; Utilizing MS Office tools such as Excel, Visio, Word and PowerPoint, including VLOOKUP and other advanced Excel functions.
