Northrop Grumman 39;s Mission Systems Sector organization is seeking applicants to provide software engineering support for the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) on the Maintenance of Space Situational Awareness Integrated Capability (MOSSAIC) program as a Software Engineer 4/5. This position will be located at L3/Harris facility, in Colorado Springs, CO and occassional work at Petersen Airforce base for classified access.
Job Summary:
Software Engineer supporting the Agile Portfolio Engineering team. This Subject Matter Expert (SME) will lead an engineering team rsquo;s evolution from a traditional DoD software engineering environment to an OpenShift/cloud Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) environment in support of APE prototyping.
Additional tasks as needed:
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualification:

bull; Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance, eligblity for TS/SCI
bull; Bachelor rsquo;s degree in software engineering, computer science or related discipline from an accredited college.
bull; 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD
bull; Experience developing real-time Object-Oriented Software architectures, with C++ or/or Java, preferable to have experience with both.
bull; Experience with full Agile lifecycle experience.
bull; Have experience applying Agile principles.
bull; Have an understanding of Scaled Agile Framework.
bull; Have experience working on an Agile team.
bull; Experience guiding a team of engineers from a traditional on-premise development environment to a cloud environment
bull; Software engineering experience in an OpenShift RedHat environment
bull; Willingness and ability to teach DevSecOps software engineering approaches to others on the team
bull; Participate in software implementation to include static code analysis, unit-level testing and documentation.
bull; Perform/support rapid software defect root cause analysis and solution development.
bull; Position may require up to 25% travel. (local travel only)
bull; Cloud architecture experience, with the ability to evolve legacy software into a microservices architecture and expertise with specifying the inputs, outputs and service roles within the archit
bull; Ability to recommend, configure, and maintain DevSecOps pipeline tools and environments, including OpenShift
bull; In-depth knowledge of containers and Kubernetes
bull; Expert in agile software engineering approaches; Experience applying behavior-driven and test-driven development
Preferred Qualification:
bull; Knowledge of Kobayashi Maru, Platform One, Cloud One, Space Camp, or other Air Force DevSecOps environments is preferred
bull; Able to deliver successful results based on general objectives with minimal guidance.

bull; Experience utilizing model based systems engineering and software design methodologies (SYSML/UML).
bull; Familiarity with Maintenance of Space Situational Awareness Integrated Capability MOSSAIC technology and programs.

bull; Certification using Agile development methodologies, preferably Scaled Agile Framework.
bull; Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, RedHat operating systems.
bull; Experience with Real Time Operating systems.

Salary Range: $92,000-$138,000
