Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Technical Development Specialist to join the Organization Effectiveness (OE) team. The preferred location for this position is at our sector headquarters in McLean, Virginia, though the selected candidate may also work in Baltimore or Linthicum, Maryland.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Conducts needs analyses to determine current and anticipated technical skill needs for DS
* Designs and creates / revises technical training and development solutions to meet current and anticipated technical skill needs
* Assesses the efficacy and return on investment of technical development programs and offerings
* Acts as the DS liaison to the enterprise technical development team, sharing sector specific needs and insights to influence enterprise offerings while also leveraging those from the enterprise and other sectors
* Directly engages users, in addition to executive, Engineering, Technology, and HR stakeholders, by:
* Consulting with technical leaders to ensure development resources are appropriate
* Conducting overview sessions with front-line managers, focusing on features and benefits of learning resources
* Partners with Technical / Engineering and Human Resources stakeholders to develop, coordinate, and maintain technical curricula and courses associated with employee roles, functions, and current and future capability needs
* Partners with talent management to build, develop, and retain a deep, diverse leadership and technical talent pipeline

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

* Must have one of the following:
* Bachelor rsquo;s degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience, at least 5 of which are in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics (STEM) field
* Master rsquo;s degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience, at least 3 of which are in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics (STEM) field
* Strong communication skills
* Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
* Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)
* Must be able to work on-site in at least one of the following locations:
* McLean, Virginia
* Baltimore, Maryland
* Linthicum, Maryland

Preferred Qualifications:

* Subject matter expertise in a specific functional area (e.g., engineering, technology, logistics)
* Strong business acumen, including value proposition development, metrics/measurement, and tradeoff analysis
* Experience with learning amp; development methodologies / instructional design
* Demonstrated success translating HR, OE, and Organization Development (OD) concepts and tools to business solutions and outcomes for sustainable business differentiation in the marketplace
* Ability to present to all levels of leadership including senior executives
