We rsquo;re looking for an Embedded Software Engineer with a strong GUI/Qt skillset and leadership skills to join our team based out of Buffalo, New York; an organization focused on the development and production of state-of-the-art Electronic Warfare Simulation Systems solutions. You will be become part of Northrop Grumman rsquo;s Software Engineering department, working in a dynamic people-focused environment where you rsquo;ll interact with other developers, other engineering disciplines, and our customers.

What you rsquo;ll get to do:

* Design, develop, test, operate, and maintain software related to the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of our products
* Act as a lead on user interface designs and development; and provide technical direction to teams of 1-5 engineers.
* Design, develop, test, operate, and maintain software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to, and integrated with, engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements
* Provide extensive technical expertise to create solutions for a wide range of complex difficult problems.
* Apply the appropriate Software Engineering standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, and display systems
* Interface with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel
* Travel to customer site for installation of our software applications upon completion (dependent on program phase)

The ideal candidate will have a strong GUI/Qt skillset with experience in the full software life cycle: requirements, design, coding, testing, and integration.

Qualification

This position may be filled at a Principal Embedded Software Engineer or a Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer based on the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Embedded Software Engineer:

* Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related Engineering/Technical degree plus 5 years (or a Master of Science degree plus 3 years; or a PhD plus 0 years) of relevant work experience.

* Experience with Graphical User Interface (GUI) Design and Development

* Experience with Linux/Unix Operating Systems

* Experience with C/C++

* Ability to collaborate in a team environment

* U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer:

* Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related Engineering/Technical degree plus 9 years (or Master of Science degree plus 7 years; or a PhD plus 4 years) of relevant work experience.

* Experience with Graphical User Interface (GUI) Design and Development

* Experience with Linux/Unix Operating Systems

* Experience with C/C++

* Ability to collaborate in a team environment

* U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

* Experience with Linux-based User Interface Design and Development

* Experience with Qt

* UX/UI Experience

* Experience with RedHat Operating Systems

* Experience leading a technical team

* Experience with regression testing, unit testing and automated testing

* Experience working on business or engineering full life-cycle projects from project inception through launch

* Experience working on Department of Defense (DOD) software development efforts

* Experience in the field of Electronic Warfare (EW)

* SoftwareDevelopment and/or Software Engineering background with an Agile/DevSecOpsmindset and experience with Scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby,JavaScript) and Test Driven Development (TDD)
