Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Turnaround Manager, located in Orange, Texas. This role provides technical leadership to improve and optimize the execution, duration, scheduling and resourcing of turnarounds. Works with the site turnaround leadership to develop and implement work processes and tools that will facilitate the optimization of all phases of Global Turnaround Methodology (GTM) in an effort to manage risks and reduce maintenance costs, while improving reliability. Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.
Responsibilities / Duties
* Responsible for all phases of the turnaround ranging from planning through execution and closure.
* Leads core TA team to ensure effective work coordination, planning, scheduling, cost management, and material management.
* Leads TA Steering team to align operations, projects, maintenance, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) functions.
* Develops and maintains the turnaround schedules and turnaround budgets and is responsible for the adherence to these.
* Coordinates site integration and resource issues through Operations and the TA Process Leader.
* Controls the cost and timing of the turnaround to meet the business and site needs.
* Defines work list by freeze date; enforces administrative controls for add-ons after freeze date.
* Develops critical path - integrate operations, projects, and maintenance activities and optimize.
* Estimates cost of TA based on scoped work; adjusts plans to meet constraints.
* Manages issues during execution to achieve all business goals.
* Identifies opportunities for frequency extension between turnarounds.
* Prepares and communicates closure reports. Ensures plans are updated and archived for future TAs.
* Participates and leads efforts on site, regional, and possibly business global network to develop discipline and tools to raise effectiveness and performance of Global Turnaround Methodology (GTM) execution.
* Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills are a must as the successful candidate will need to partner with production plants, engineering and maintenance leaders, purchasing, and contractor management in order to drive the turnaround planning and execution to a successful resolution
Required Qualifications
* A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required OR in lieu of an advanced degree, 5 years turnaround, manufacturing or related experience with a High School Diploma/GED is required.
* A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
