The perfect candidate for this position will be able to circulating and scrub. A circulating nurse i a registered nurse whose function is to monitor the procedures in operating rooms during surgery. During operations and other surgical procedures, the circulator assists by acting as an intermediary between the operating room staff and the rest of the hospital. Responsibilities of the circulating nurse include: Ensures that the surgical room is sterile and safe for the patient. Works side by side with scrub nurses to help maintain the sterile field in the operating room. Prepares the patient for the procedure and handles the preparation for the operating room before the surgery takes place. Possible hours include Day/Eve w/call off hours.

What Does an Operating Room RN Do? As an Operating Room RN with Lower Keys Medical Center, you will spend your day
* Evaluating your assigned patients and plans, and implementing and documenting nursing care.
* You will be assisting the physicians during examinations and procedures.
* Performing various patient tests, and administering medications within the scope of practice of the Registered Nurse.
* Also you will be promoting patients' independence by establishing patient care goals, and teaching patients and their families, to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
* You will rely on your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, while performing a variety of tasks.
* A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
* You will reports to a manager or head of the unit/department.

Which Qualifications Do You Need? In order to set you up for success, you need the basics of
* Requires an Associate's Degree.
* You must be certified as a Registered Nurse, here in Florida.
* A current BLS is required.
* Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this field, is also required.
* Flexibility with scheduling, to include coverage of off hour shifts, department opening and closing, and add on cases on short notice will be needed for this position.
* Scrub experience preferred.
* A willingness to take weekday and weekend call shifts and be within 30 minutes of LKMC.
* Circulatory/Scrub experience is preferred.
