CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Cooperative Resources group. We are looking for a Market Development Manager who will engage with member cooperatives to develop cooperative system leaders and create opportunities for shared success. The preferred candidate will deliver thoughtful industry, business and strategic planning insight, develop and acquire current and future cooperative system leaders and be an important liaison connecting member cooperative leadership with CHS. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be able to make important decisions while managing conflict, display the ability to understand individual styles and build trust.
* The person in this role will cover the state of S.D. and portions of M.N.
* The individual in this role can either reside in Sioux Falls, S.D. or the Twin Cities, MN Metro
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with member cooperatives on behalf of the CHS enterprise to advise, facilitate, plan and assist in the development of opportunities for shared success
* Build meaningful, high-trust relationships with CEOs, boards of directors and other leadership of member cooperatives. Identify mutually beneficial business opportunities between assigned member cooperatives and CHS.
* Collaborate with member cooperatives in strategic planning efforts. Assist local management in driving the process including facilitation of planning sessions as needed. May include merger studies, consolidation plans, expansion plans, acquisition studies, etc.
* Deliver relevant and timely industry and market information thru presentations and discussions with member cooperatives to build credibility and deliver valuable insights to assigned member cooperatives.
* Engage member cooperatives in employee learning and development programs offered through the Cooperative Leadership Academy.
* Collaborate with CHS wholesale business unit teammates to identify business opportunities with member cooperatives and ensure alignment on strategy, goals and measurements of success.
* Actively participate in industry associations and events for the betterment of the cooperative system, agriculture and rural America.
* Be committed to strengthen the cooperative system for the benefit of members and CHS.
* Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
* Travel 35-40% of the time within the assigned territory.
Basic Qualifications: (required)
* Bachelors degree
* 10 plus years of agribusiness account management and/or cooperative management experience

* Strong external and industry perspective regarding current/future marketplace trends and needs in the agronomy, energy and grain sectors
