Your Opportunity
The Schwab Asset Management Solutions (SAMS) FP&A team is a Finance partner to the Asset Management business, which manages and supports more than $3 trillion of client assets and provides money management and portfolio advice solutions.

Finance is heavily involved in financial modeling, pricing, and product/solution profitability analyses and provides financial planning, analysis and reporting in support of SAMS and its business functions that includes Sales, Strategy and Product Management.

What you are good at

* Advise business partners on strategic alternatives and potential impact of decisions. Provide insights into critical trends and decision support.
* Collaborate with business, corporate finance and team members to simplify the complex, break down barriers and incorporate the ideas of others.
* Analyze and partner with Finance team to develop financial models to help evaluate opportunities in support of strategic and competitive growth initiatives.
* Report: Enhance reporting capabilities to include benchmarks and exception-based reports and implement improvements to existing data gathering, reporting and analysis processes to improve efficiencies.
* Perform ad-hoc analyses related to understanding business, product performance and P&L metrics
* Implement driver-based modeling and financial planning
* Develop deep knowledge of SAMS business and products and become a valued thought partner with business partners and stakeholders in other areas of Schwab
* Develop and present PowerPoint materials with clear and concise messages that resonate with a target audience, particularly Senior Leadership

What you have

* Initiative: Strong self-starter w/excellent business judgment and ability to proactively problem solve
* Analytical thinking: Ability to scope and structure financial analysis and develop complex financial models to answer ad hoc business questions from senior management efficiently and accurately
* Consulting and influencing skills prior experience working in core Financial Planning & Analysis or dedicated analysist within a business unit
* Attention to detail and accuracy with proven ability to identify data anomalies and identify issues
* Working knowledge of relational database structures
* Experience using programming language(s) to query, aggregate, validate, and summarize data accurately.
* Expert Microsoft Excel skills required including, but not limited to, model development, automation of repeatable processes using formulas, and visualizations
* Communication: Clear and concise analyses, as well as excellent written and verbal communication
* Intellectual curiosity and inquisitive approach
* Financial services industry experience preferred
* Bachelors degree required -- MBA or equivalent preferred
* A minimum of 7+ years of related financial planning and business analysis experience
