Boeing Defense, Space & Security's (BDS) Vertical Lift division is seeking Early Career Equipment & Tool Engineers in Mesa, AZ to support the AH-64 Apache programs.

An Equipment & Tool Engineer Designs, analyzes and modifies aerospace manufacturing equipment and tooling that meet stakeholder requirements. Researches, develops, evaluates and integrates robotics, automation, and new technologies and processes related to equipment and tooling for applicability to programs and products. Teams with cross-functional subject matter experts to develop and review bids and procurement specifications. Estimates, plans, manages and executes the acquisition and modification of equipment and tooling. Develops and implements testing and acceptance to validate performance. Creates and maintains related documentation for equipment and tooling, develops preventative maintenance plans and trains personnel as needed. Develops and implements interim solutions for damaged and unsafe equipment and tooling. Investigates engineering changes and controls equipment and tooling configuration in accordance with company procedures. Develops and recommends equipment reliability improvements through the application of reliability engineering tooling.

Position Responsibilities:

* Assists with the development of basic equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.
* Compiles and analyzes technical data for equipment and tooling.
* Assists with compliance reviews regarding safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
* Supports the tracking of contractual performance milestones, the development of preventative maintenance and spares plans, assists with production readiness planning, and training of Production and Maintenance personnel.
* Develops and implements basic work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation.
* Assists with the disposition of assets.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

* Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

* Academic experience in an engineering discipline

* Academic experience in manufacturing principles

* Academic experience with LEAN principles

* Experience using Microsoft Office products

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with Root Cause Analysis, problem solving and improvement projects.

* Ability to collaborate with both the engineering workforce and mechanics on the factory floor.

* Experience with Microsoft Access or SQL databases.

* Experience with Robotics and Automation

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
