Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst in the Enterprise Functions CFO Organization will play a key role in providing finance support to the Global Risk and Compliance, Aviation, General Counsels Office, and Internal Audit business units of American Express. This role will partner directly with the GRC leadership team to create and execute on financial plans, and will have exposure to other BU Finance groups as well as HQ Corporate Planning and Controllership teams.
The Senior Financial Analyst should be a dynamic individual who can communicate effectively with business and finance partners, support key financial processes, deliver superior analytics and manage complex tasks in a global organization.
Key responsibilities include
* Support the preparation of monthly results analysis and month/quarter/year end activities through working with Enterprise Functions business partners, Corporate Planning teams and Controllership
* Track and analyze key issues and spending trends while liaising with business partners for in-depth analysis on financial results and assessments
* Support financial processes including forecasting risks and opportunities, investment management and overall financial planning such as the Long Range Plan and Annual Plan
* Analyze month-end results and drivers and prepare monthly results presentation packages to Executive Office
* Support ad-hoc requests from Enterprise Functions groups, building and maintaining financial models for decision support
Minimum Qualifications
* Minimum of 2-3 years of working experience with an Undergraduate degree in Finance or related field
* Results Leadership: Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliverables with excellent organizational skills
* Communication: Robust communication skills, written and verbal, to communicate with and influence at all levels of the organization
* Analytical Thinking: Strong aptitude for analytics. Demonstrated ability to develop sophisticated financial models and draw value-add insights from large amounts of financial data
* Change Leadership: Continuously seek process improvement and play a strong role in driving change in the organization
* Strategic Thinking: Solid ability to adopt a broad perspective and link high-level strategies to specific initiatives
* Strong work ethic with an intense will-to-win and demonstrated personal excellence
* Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills, familiarity with TM1 and other Finance systems and processes preferred
