To meet the growing needs of the mobility business, the Platform Enablement team is looking for software engineers with a passion to work on a collaborative software delivery team. As part of this team, you will enable the creation and management of Platforms and APIs that enable teams across Ford to go further faster.
What youll be able to do:
* Serve as a core member of the platform enablement teams that enables the design, development, and consumption of Platforms, APIs, and services
* Contribute to application design and architecture of full stack products
* Collaborate with product managers to devise solutions and break them down into incremental production-ready user stories
* Identify opportunities for adopting new technologies and automating processes
* Grow technical capabilities / expertise and provide guidance to other members of the team
The minimum requirements we seek:
* Bachelor's in computer science, software, or engineering
* 3+ years of experience in a full-stack software engineering role
* 3+ years experience Java development
* 3+ years experience - cloud native development on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF/Google)
* 3+ years experience - Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and PCF cloud tools
* 2+ years experience - Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and Test Driven Development (TDD)
Our preferred requirements:
* Experience with Kanban or Agile XP methodology and practices
* 2+ years experience - microservices development
* 2+ years experience - IoT Spring cloud stream framework
* Tools:
* IDE: IntelliJ
* CI/CD: Gradle, Jenkins
* Unit testing: JUnit, Mockito
* Monitoring: Dynatrace, Grafana, Splunk
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
* Self-directed, highly motivated, self-starter and skilled individual with strong demonstrated leadership and technical problem-solving skills.
* Prior experience working with project management software such Pivotal Tracker, Jira, or Rally
* Critical thinking, decision-making and leadership aptitudes
* Good knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, standards and procedures for high quality software development
* Knowledge about API design standards, patterns and best-practices
* Experience with automated testing concepts, tools, and frameworks
* Excellent communications skills - ability to engage in deep technical discussions with the team
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience with REST Web Services developed using Spring or similar frameworks
* Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and microservice architectures
* Experience with deploying and operating software on cloud platforms like Azure
* Experience troubleshooting application and performance issues
* Experience with CI/CD tools and processes
