Job Description:
The Operational Risk Officer is part of NAM CBORC US Consumer Digital and Partnership SORM Support and Analysis team supporting US Consumer Digital and US Consumer Partnerships & Franchise Development. Role is responsible for supporting Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC requirements that are applicable to the US Consumer businesses and functions. GRC programs is comprised of policies, procedures and processes through which Citi identifies, assesses, manages, and reports operational and compliance risks as part of Citis Risk Governance Framework. The role will interface with Business Process Owners, CBORC Senior Operational Risk Management Team members, and ICRM.
This role will work as a part of a broader team to maintain GRC linkage within Citi Risk and Control for the assigned business unit within the NAM CBORC US Consumer Digital & Partnerships SORM team. Role will collaborate with SORM, BORM, and business MCA team to use analysis to identify opportunities to strengthen regulation and business process controls. Responsible for providing control metrics for monthly scorecards and ad hoc control decks including actionable information.
Key responsibilities include:
* Support assigned program objectives by developing and executing processes and tools that align with the GCB and Citi Risk and Control processes associated with the MCA program requirements.
* Establishes and oversees the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risk.
* Maintain ongoing linkage within Citi Risk and Control supporting assigned business unit, Product Inventory Tagging and GCBs Regulatory Inventory Mapping (inherent risk, control performance, residual risk, linkage health etc.).
* Propose and implement technical solutions to drive goal of control monitoring automation, simplification of front line control responsibilities, and automation of recurring reporting requirements.
* Provides support to internal CBORC partners and In Business Control Leads in efforts related to Policy and Governance Change, Cross Business Issue Assessment (CBIA), Operational Losses, Back Testing and Product Tagging review and maintenance.
* Identify and escalate potential areas of risk and threats; implement strategies and routines to mitigate operational or emerging operational risk.
* Resolves transactional level escalations coming from internal partners.
* Analyzes a multitude of scorecards/performance management tools in an attempt to mitigate exposure (risk/financial/regulatory).
* Monitors goals are met through performance, risk and relationship oversight of our extended supply chain. Collaborates to resolve any issues, which fall within the aligned business unit.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors/University degree
* 3-5 years experience navigating and networking with internal stakeholders to support an implementation, process analysis and / or process improvement.
* Strong analytical skills and knowledge of Excel and other analytical tools across large data sets.
* Familiarity with U.S. regulations as applicable to the banking industry (US Federal consumer and banking regulations) desired.
* Demonstrate ability to influence others, and engage across multiple functions and seniority levels.
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills are required in order to guide, document, influence and convince others to adopt proposed recommendations.
* General knowledge of primary end-to-end processes performed in the U.S. Consumer Bank businesses.
* Experience with governance, risk and control management, risk approvals, as well as engaging with 2nd/3rd lines of defense (preferred +5 years, not required).
* Understanding / familiarity with new product development processes (e.g. 1st and 2nd line of defense risk/control mechanisms).
* Comfortable working in a dynamic, problem solving, collaborative environment.
* Knowledge of Citi GCB products, services, processes and technology platforms supporting Front Office and Operations.
