Your Responsibilities

As an Environmental Engineer for John Deere located in Waterloo, IA, you will implement environmental processes & programs to meet the ISO 14001 EMS requirements and comply with applicable laws and regulations at Waterloo Works Operations. In addition, you will:

* Compile necessary data, documentation, and correspondence to comply with ENV regulations and EMS requirements.
* Coordinate and conduct ENV audits to identify noncompliance with JD EMS and applicable laws and regulations.
* Oversee the implementation of assigned programs and work direction to factory employees.
* Develop and deliver relevant and effective environmental training for employees.

What Skills You Need

* Experience with major environmental regulatory programs (air, water, waste, spill response), with skills to independently use the knowledge
* Experience with environmental management systems and standards
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and interest in working in a factory setting
* Ability to work semi-independently, assess priorities and deliver accurate and timely work product

What Makes You Stand Out

* Experience working in a manufacturing environment
* Understanding of AutoCAD, data analytics tools, and O365 suite
* Experience working with Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001 or equivalent)
* Ability to effectively communicate and build positive relationships with key stakeholders

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, chemical engineering or equivalent technical discipline
