Overview

The position is expected to drive the project management team to follow processes and procedures insuring the consistent execution of projects within the IUHMC project program, and shall represent IU Health Design & Construction (D&C) in key initiatives and transitions, which affect departments across the IU Health system.

Together with the AAHC Operations Director and the D&C Executive Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) shall effectively lead the development, refinement and periodic updating of IU Health D&C system and department process improvement initiatives as assigned, and outlined here as follows:

Responsible for:

* Oversight of the selection and implementation of tools to be used by all projects within the program, provide leadership to operations team members supporting the broader project.
* Facilitating the control and the overall integrity of the D&C operating environment including, but not limited to:
* Leading the planning and controls team supporting design and construction for the AAHC project
* Drafting and finalizing policy documents
* Coordinating with Internal Audit
* Working to help define and document governance and chain of command
* Proven experience with Lean tools in planning and controls on large complex projects. Experience with digital collaboration software platforms such as vPlanner, TouchPlan, Smartsheet, and Jira.
* Coaching, teaching, mentoring and facilitating the advancement of the skills of staff within Design and Construction in support of the IUHMC project program including, but not limited to:
* Procurement planning, from initial scope development through the bid/proposal process
* Logging/tracking communications, RFQ, RFP drafting, management and coordination, interview processes, and
* Notification and selection of the competing vendors all in support of the IUHMC program

Accountable for:

* Developing new and refining current project management tool kit that advance the IUHMC project program and D&C department processes and tracking
* Establishing asset standards and collaborates with stakeholders
* Ensuring team members use IU Health systems and tools to enhance predictability of expected outcomes on projects within the program
* Assisting D&C leadership in managing/training best practices in Project Management including program/project metrics (e.g. schedule, budget, diversity, local and disadvantaged business participation, sustainability, cost/escalation, safety, etc.) in support of effective project delivery for IU Health D&C

Qualifications/knowledge/skills/abilities

* Bachelors Degree required, Masters preferred.
* 7+ years of proven experience required.
* Extensive experience leading complex programs/projects ($100 million+).
* Knowledge of state and federal laws relative to assigned area.
* Experience preparing and adhering to Service Line Agreements with partners/customers.
