Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Production Test and Launch Capability is seeking Mid-Level Industrial Engineers in to support Space and Launch Enterprise Systems, such as International Space Station, Starliner, and Space Launch System.

Our Industrial Engineers support Manufacturing Operations in a production environment to develop processes that optimize the use of resources (e.g. facilities, personnel, materials, equipment). This environment embraces the concept of team collaboration focused on developing and implementing process improvements that are directed at enhancing schedule performance, lowering cost, improving quality and increasing safety through the application of Industrial Engineering and Lean concepts.

Position Responsibilities:

* Applies advanced industrial engineering techniques and concepts to improve and implements processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of advanced Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.

* Develops standard processes that designs out opportunities for unplanned or unnecessary production variation, and ensures residual unplanned variation remains within control limits of the system.

* Utilizes advanced engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to develop optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the creation and validation of products.

* Analyzes and designs value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, work flow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

* Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or similar technical degree.

* 3+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering

* 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment

* 1+ years of experience with LEAN principles

* Experience using Microsoft Office products

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

* Experience with Root Cause Analysis, problem solving and improvement projects.

* Ability to collaborate with both the engineering workforce and mechanics on the factory floor.

* Experience with model based engineering and model based instructions.

* Experience with constraint-based scheduling

Typical Education/Experience:

Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
