Oncology nursing excellence is a central pillar in MD Anderson's worldwide reputation for cancer care. MD Anderson nurses are bright, motivated and caring. As a Five-Time Magnet Recognized hospital, we provide our patients with excellent oncology nursing care. Our nurses have access to multiple opportunities for reward and professional growth, while still being able to balance their work and personal lives. We value our nurses, treat them professionally and provide an environment where they can achieve the utmost job satisfaction. Our core values are caring, integrity and discovery, safety and stewardship.
Most new patients who come to MD Anderson every year are treated in one of our specialized cancer care centers or clinics, which embody the multidisciplinary, team approach to cancer care that has become an MD Anderson trademark. MD Anderson's Genitourinary Cancer Center is one of the most active programs in the country for treating cancers of the urinary tract and male reproductive system. We take a team approach to treating genitourinary cancers, and the specialized medical oncologists, surgeons and radiation oncologists collaborate closely to offer customized treatments to our patients.
The Clinical Nurse, Outpatient in the Genitourinary Cancer Center at MD Anderson coordinates and implements patient care across the continuum of care. Nurses are accountable and responsible for providing quality, evidence-based patient care through the appropriate use of resources in collaboration with the inter-professional team, and acts as a patient and family advocate to uphold patient rights.
