Pharmacist PRN

HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland has been an integral part of Galveston County for more than 60 years. We offer 223 beds and services in emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, physical therapy, radiology, total joint replacements, hyperbaric medicine diagnostic/imaging services and wound care facilities.

HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.

What you will do in this role:
* Responsible for interpreting, filling and checking physician orders.
* Responsible for compounding and checking IV admixtures.
* Responsible for adherence to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession and State and Federal laws.
* Responsible for clinical activities as determined by pharmacy director or lead pharmacist.
* Responsible for the provision of services for all populations of patients (infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).



Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:

* Minimum of one (1) year of current experience in hospital pharmacy preferred.
* Experience in I.V. admixture and unit dose drug distribution system required.
* Experience with computerized pharmacy systems required.
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy, or Pharm. D. Degree from an accredited College Pharmacy required.
* Currently licensed to practice Pharmacy in the State of Texas through the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and be in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy.
* Educational requirements appropriate for meeting age-specific needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
