Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.

What you will do in this role:
Coordinates the speech/language pathology care for the patient population who are acutely ill and have medical needs which result in cognitive, swallowing, or language deficits.
The speech/language pathologist is expected to accurately assess patients needs; identify and implement appropriate speech/language pathology interventions; coordinate and/or provide patient and family teaching and work in collaborative association with the interdisciplinary team to provide timely, safe, and cost effective treatment to achieve the optimal functional outcome.
The speech therapist may also treat patients in the out-patient setting.

Qualifications

Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of Speech/Language Pathology required.

What qualification you will need:

Licensed Speech/Language Pathologist in the state of Texas required.

Certified in Clinical competency by ASHA preferred.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support course (BLS or BCLS) and certification is required.
