Basic Function of Job
The Capacity Planner is responsible for determining the production capacity needed to meet forecast. Understanding how the business operates and planning for future capacity requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Evaluating new opportunities and implementing changes for current capacity planning inputs, processes and modeling.
- Working with key stakeholders to identify business drivers, levers, and productivity improvement opportunities.
- Developing metrics by which the organization can be measured, with regards to headcount capacity, utilization, and performance.
- Assisting in developing model by which headcount capacity and demand is forecasted.
- Following a regular reporting cadence for the Leadership Team.
- Integrating various existing capacity planning tools and models into a single, end-to-end solution.
- Participate in weekly review meetings detailing the volume requirements for 6-9 months.
- Capture the right metrics to influence stakeholders and measure success.
- Participate in critical projects to improve planning and forecasting efficiency for NA operations.
- Promote process improvement and standardization of processes across all sites in NA.
- Analyzes distribution and production capacities and performs mathematical calculations to determine production schedule is attainable.
- Participate in Department/Production specific projects.
- Communicate concerns regarding manufacturing performance issues as necessary.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced ever changing environment.
- Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent experiences.
- Expertise in Excel, VBA , SQL (basic).
- Excellent planning, time and project management skills with the ability to deal with multiple demands on time and deal with ambiguity.
- Strong data mining skills, and experience working with Production Environment Metrics such as Forecasting, Planning, FTE.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, peers, and customers.
- Strong analytical skills, process oriented and ability to develop actionable plans.
- Ability to identify issues and take corrective/preventative actions.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with others related to learning, problem solving, back-up support and fostering team support.
- Must demonstrate flexibility to changing priorities, deadlines, demands and assignments as needed.
Value added skills
- SAP experience
- An understanding of lean-manufacturing principles
