Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Back End Developer you:
Are experienced with client-server architectures, networking protocols, application development, and using databases.
Have experience using and developing APIs.
Understand user and system requirements
. Have an understanding of, or experience with, Agile development methodology.

What Youll Do:
Youll work in a dynamic, collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code and test innovative applications, and support those applications for our highly valued customers.
. Youll employ IBMs Design Thinking to create products that provide a great user experience along with high performance, security, quality, and stability.
Design and code servers, services, applications and databases that are reusable, scalable and meet critical architecture goals.
Create Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that are clean, well-documented, and easy to use.
Create and configure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) applications.
Design and implement large scale systems and Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) that enable continuous delivery.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
2+ years in the following technology areas: C++, C, Java, SQL
2+ years in REST API development
Experience with object oriented programming/methodologies
Experience delivering solutions using an Agile / Scrum methodology
Familiarity with cloud environments such as IBM Cloud & Hybrid Cloud
Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
Understanding of user and system requirements
Ability to write code that is well documented as well as structured into meaningful components and modules.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
3+ Years as a Software Developer
Understanding of front-end programming languages like HTML, XML, CSS, and JavaScript
Knowledge of front-end Javascript libraries like React and jQuery
Familiarization with UI design frameworks & component based libraries like w3DS, Bootstrap, Semantic UI, Materialize CSS
Awareness of Javascript runtime environments like Node.js
Ability to leverage web application frameworks like Express to provide clean and easy servers.
Utilize automation software like Docker to deploy web applications
Experience with packet managers for Javascript like npm
Knowledge of Database technologies RDBMS or NoSQL
Knowledge of MQSeries
Knowledge of Liberty/WAS
DevOps experience to support the continuous integration and continuous delivery cycle
Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
Comprehensive overall passion for technology

CIO Identity is an organization within IBM Assured Identity and Cybersecurity Operations. CIO Identitys mission is to provide frictionless, secure, state of the art access to Enterprise IT Resources. We provide services for authentication, a centralized platform for access management and a core set of foundational services that include Identity for IBMers worldwide. CIO Identity Services Enterprise Directory Services is seeking a strong Back End Developer to join our North Castle-based team supporting our Identity portfolio. We are looking for a developer who is a self-starter, able to work independently and also as a member of a diverse team that consists of developers in North Castle, New York, and operations resources in Boulder, Colorado.
