Public Policy Manager, U.S.

Job Description

Facebook's U.S. Public Policy team is seeking a Public Policy Manager to support our competition and regulatory policy development and work closely with legal, communications, and extended policy verticals. In this role, you will assist in the formulation and implementation of the companys competition and regulation policy strategy. This role will also monitor and analyze competition-related policy trends for the company and relevant stakeholders, including matters relating to federal and state legislation, enforcement actions, and civil society thought leadership. This role will assist in advising Facebook's internal teams on our public policy strategy to help guide the development of products and services. Additionally, the Public Policy Manager will aid in the development of Facebook's positions in public presentations or closed-door policy briefings. Candidates should be detail-oriented, creative, resourceful, analytical, and knowledgeable about emerging competition policy issues, and have experience presenting to cross-functional partners. Candidates should also be comfortable meeting high expectations and prepared to guide, direct, and execute quickly.

Public Policy Manager, U.S. Responsibilities

* Analyze and develop policy strategy and positions

* Identify, monitor, and analyze legislative/regulatory issues impacting Facebook at the Federal level

* Represent Facebook to external policy stakeholders at events, conferences, coalition meetings, and in various working groups

* Articulate our policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses, and internal policy meetings

* Advise Facebook teams on policy matters to guide development of services and policies

* Advance Facebooks public policy priorities within the broad U.S. public policy community and provide feedback to third-party groups on their policy efforts

* Identify, monitor, and analyze competition policy issues affecting Facebook at the federal and state levels

* Advise Facebook business, product, and other policy verticals on competition-related policy matters to support the development of our products and policy positions

* Articulate our competition-related policy positions in briefing papers and public collateral

* Assist in the development, maintenance, and deepening of relationships with coalitions, academic experts, and other stakeholders in the competition policy space

* Communicate with external stakeholders on behalf of Facebook on topics related to competition policy

* Identify changing business and regulatory trends and develop proactive competition policy strategies

Minimum Qualifications

* 5+ years of legal and/or public policy experience

* Experience in substantive competition legal or policy matters

* Project management skills and experience presenting to cross-functional partners, consensus building, and making policy recommendations

Preferred Qualifications

* JD

* Experience in the federal legislative and/or federal agency enforcement, policy development, and rule-making process

* Experience working on issue area campaigns or complex litigation/regulatory matters

* Experience working in technology policy and related issue areas
