Cornings Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (LCDs) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

* Gather and analyze process data relating to continuous flow process
* Utilize knowledge of process control for manufacturing decision making
* Direct and assign daily work assignments for hourly employees on the shift
* Achieve and maintain superior safety and housekeeping performance
* Define and achieve quality performance that allows HAKY to meet or exceed customer expectations and manufacturing goals and cost objectives
* Hold team to standard operating procedures, code of conduct, plant/company rules, collective bargaining agreement
* Engage the Union workforce through setting clear expectations and holding the team accountable
* Drive continual process improvement
* Utilize Six Sigma process to eliminate cause and effect
* Dedicated Lean manufacturing leader for shift personnel
* Be the center of knowledge for all happenings on the shift
* Supervisory responsibility of a minimum of 20 personnel

Travel Requirements:

* Occasional trips to Corning, NY

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

* 12hr Rotating Shift Schedule

Required Education and Experience:

* We require a Bachelors degree
* We are seeking 1-3 years of prior supervisory experience
* Excellent leadership skills, ability to work at all levels of the organization, continuously mentor, coach or teach
* Critical decision-making skills, lead to SOP, trouble shoot, and act thrive under pressure
* Ability to drive to root cause analysis and direct engineering solutions
* Understand and own multiple areas in the plant in order to prioritize and assign work and resources
* Handle multiple tasks at once

Desired Skills:

* Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) intermediate level
* Basic statistical Knowledge
* Understanding of manufacturing systems/operations
* Lean Manufacturing experience
