* Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning opportunities and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate
* Demonstrates the use of critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities in coordinating and supervising patient care
* Completes documentation which reflects current nursing standards, and which supports policies and procedures
* Manages and operates unit equipment safely and correctly
* Demonstrates knowledge of current patient safety goals and policies
* Applies knowledge of infection control policies and procedures supporting standards of care
* Communicates appropriately with patients, physicians, co-workers, staff and patient families
* Interacts with a high level of professionalism, respect and dignity
* Maintains patient confidentiality
* Participates in the clinical development of self and others to provide for personal growth, unit clinical competency and unit retention
* Participates in the department's continuous quality improvement activities
* Committee and meeting participation: Unit staff meetings; other participation as appropriate and required
* Position patients for procedures
* Understanding of supplies needed for procedures
* Understanding in performing Time-outs
* Ability to work with pre-op, PACU, and other interdisciplinary teams as needed
* Works directly with Surgeons and Anesthesia and assists as needed

Position Requirements

* ADN in Nursing
* Licensed RN in the State of Arizona or Compact RN License
* BLS / ACLS / PALS as needed as required by Department
* Ability to work effectively with computer based charting and other clinical software programs
* Adaptability to change, organizational skills
* Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
* Minimum of 2 Years of Operating Room Nursing Experience

Preferred Requirements

* 3-5 Years of Operating Room Nursing Experience
* CNOR Certification
* Bachelor's in Nursing or relevant
