The Buyer will purchase and manage merchandise, commodities, and products for resale. The Buyer will assist in preparing reports, data entry and special projects as assigned

Resposibilities

* Inspect and grade or appraise agricultural commodities, or other merchandise to determine value and yield.
* Utilize DCOT, GIG, shrink and sales reports to facilitate accurate orders to drive DC Metric and financial success.
* Grow partnership with Local Vendors, GPP Buyers, and global logistics team.
* Maintain the minimum product mix standards for the region- including Monthly core set as defined by the Global Category Management Team.u00A0 Partner with Regional Produce Team to establish set of SKUs outside of global requirements
* Inspect and maximize profit though inventory management, negotiation, category management, forward buys, and accurate price files.
* Select and provide market information for all appropriate documents.
* Inspect inventory levels and prepare Purchase Orders. In addition to participating in annual physical inventory
* Coordinate and stay abreast of product knowledge and industry trends by becoming familiar with customeru2019s attitudes, preference, and purchasing problems.
* Inspect product on hand for quality and condition.
* Establish and maintains collaborative and productive working relationship with Facility Team Leader, Director of Purchasing, other Directors, Team Leaders, and all Team Members.
* Maintain cultivates effective inter-department and inter-facility communication.
* Establish and maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensures compliance with relevant regulatory rules

Requirements:

* Minimum 3-5 years of produce leadership or buying experience.
* Working experience on Orderlink, PeopleSoft, EXE, P-3. u00A0Advanced computer skills including Excel, Word, and Web Browser.
* Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
* Effective oral and written communication, must read, write and speak English
* Ability to work well with others
* Self-motivated
* Able to work at least 40 hours per week, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.

The wage range for this position is $24.85 - $42.15, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers u201CWhole Benefits.
