As the Sustaining Product Development Team Lead, this team member is responsible for leading a cross functional team in resolution of all SSD product issues throughout the sustaining lifecycle. Will engage the product development team as a product approaches production and is overall engineering lead until product warranty support expiration. Experience in leading cross functional engineering teams is highly desired. Prior work experience in the design and development of Hard Disk Drive (HDD), Solid State Drive (SSD) technology or Memory products, products and services preferred. Prior work experience in SAS/SATA/PCIe interface protocols is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Work with cross functional leads to close customer qualification and field escalated issues.
* Works with factory based sustaining team to close factory escalated process issues, maintain factory metrics and close factory related customer issues.
* Leads team on any product requested feature change scoping/resource planning, and eventual implementation of feature change.
* Coordinate qualification and validation of any of product change during sustaining phase.
* Manage and coordinate release of bug fix and maintenance firmware releases.
* Assists in drafting 8Ds for customer related issues.
* Work closely with Program Management on EOL product life cycle (PLC) deliverables.
* Documents lessons learned during issues and drives preventative action back to development teams.
* Drives root cause F/A, closure & verification on all drive failures through product EOL.
* Provide weekly technical program status to peers and upper management.
* Works with sustaining team to improve overall team efficiency.

REQUIRED:

* BS/MS of Engineering with 8+ years of product engineering or program manager experience required, ideally in computer hardware industry.
* Background in failure analysis, yield reduction and transfer activities into high volume manufacturing is desired.
* Must have ability to communicate effectively with customer for technical and quality issues.
* Able to pull together cross functional team members to resolve engineering and logistical issues.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
* Highly organized
* Ability to travel internationally (less than 10%)
