The Billing and Coding Manager is responsible for the success of the non-patient facing revenue cycle processes and controls relating to coding, claim submissions, collections and reimbursement. They will provide day to day supervision & management operational coding and vendor management of post claim submissions revenue cycle & collections processes
Primary Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee the day-to-day duties of the operational coding team and 3rd party vendor to ensure successful non-patient facing revenue cycle performance
* Serve as subject matter expert on all matters related to revenue cycle including reimbursement methodologies, coding, reporting, CPT/HCPCS, charge capture and billing processes
* Develop, monitor and analyze accounts receivable to ensure maximum net revenue realization, stable cash collections, avoidance of denials and measured reduction to bad debt
* Monitor aged accounts and verifies appropriate collections procedures are being followed
* Review and manage staff and vendor performance and productivity, through ongoing process and performance development and provide feedback to staff and leadership

Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, healthcare administration or business administration or equivalent work experience
* 3+ years of revenue cycle management experience
* 3+ years coding CPT / HCPS & charge capture management experience / knowledge
* Demonstrated leadership skills
* Experience with automated billing and collections systems, accounts receivable management and reporting
* Significant experience with reporting revenue cycle key performance indicators
* Significant experience with billing and collections systems
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word

* Solid quantitative, analytic, and problem-solving skills to evaluate all aspects of a problem or opportunity and draw valid conclusions to make or facilitate appropriate and timely decisions
