Position Description
The Travel Nurse participates in all activities related to professional services provided. They participate in all activities related to professional services provided. The Travel Nurse or their alternate who is similarly qualified must be available at all times during operating hours of the Agency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Participates in activities relative to provision of professional care and services on an interim basis as assigned/directed by the Administrator and/or Regional Director of Operations
* A Travel Nurse will be asked to fill as an alternate RN Case Manager during times of vacancy
* Maintains and adheres to agency procedure and patient care policy standards
* Provides and coordinates patient care services during assignments
* Informs health care professionals of duties and administrative rules to ensure policies and procedures are being met
* Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings as necessary to current assignment
* Assists with education and ongoing support of Grace/Comfort Hospice EHR
* Acts as a preceptor for new staff
* Assists with analysis and evaluation of clinical operations to ensure standards are adhered to
* Supervises the operation of Agency policy by the assigned staff
* Reports to Administrator, DCS or RDO regarding changes that might affect the clinical operations of the site
* Assists with establishing policies and procedures in compliance with state health statutes and administrative rules related to EHR
* Assures that all standards of care are being maintained by EHR users
* Maintains confidentiality of patient and Agency matters
* Performs other duties as needed and as requested by Administrator or RDO
* Assists with billing process
* Adheres strictly to Agency customer service standards and complaint process
* Develops, supervises and evaluates clinical provisions made for patient care:
* When there is a significant health status change in the clients condition
* At the Physicians request, or
* After hospitalization
REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* Associate Degree in Nursing
* Is currently licensed in the state of practice or in accordance with the Board of Nurse Examiners rules for Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
* Within 4 months of start, obtain Registered Nurse Licensure in all states that Grace/Comfort Hospice operates in (this would be paid for by employer)
* Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a licensed hospice or home health setting including team supervision
* Must have a valid drivers license as well as have and maintain an automobile to be used for work
* Demonstrates organizational skills and effectively supervises others
* Demonstrates above average computer and EHR competency
* Ability to learn, absorb and apply professional training
* Demonstrates excellent problem solving techniques
* Exceptional communications skills
* Able to handle multiple and shifting assignments and presents a professional image
* Be available at all times, either in person or telephonically
* Be able to travel extensively (at least 70% of the time can be up to 100%)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* Bachelors Degree in Nursing
