Job Summary

The Utility A Start position is a bargaining unit position which requires a general knowledge and ability to perform basic construction related tasks and Utility tasks such as, but not limited to; responding to leak/CO complaints when qualified, assisting with and/or performing leak repair duties and service installations when qualified, using air and hand tools, operating equipment, pipe fitting, meter turn-ons, complying with all Company safety standards, after hours work and exposure to all weather conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities

* Basic Backhoe.
* Basic pipe fitting (swing meter in to out).
* Build and install meter sets.
* Turn-ons.
* Odorant testing (sniff tests) with or without testing.
* Assist with leak repairs, respond to leak/CO complaints when qualified and perform other duties as requested and callout when qualified.
* Duty crew when qualified.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Good mechanical skills.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Availability for shift work and after hours call out when judged qualified.

Education and Experience

* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Must possess a valid PA Drivers license.
* CDL A license preferred; will be required within 6 months of hire.
