The IT Operations Support Technician builds and installs end user computer systems and peripherals, and monitors the data center facility and the processing of critical systems. The technician troubleshoots or escalates issues based on documentation / training and business needs. This position will also provide asset management, purchasing services, and routine system administration tasks in support of the Security Operations Center.
The current shift is 9am-6pm, Monday through Friday with occasional weekends, overnights and holidays as needed. This position will work in our office in Middleton, WI.
NOTE: We can fill the Operations Support Technician at a level 1, 2 or 3. We will assess applicants based on skills and relevant experiences.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
* Associate degree in related field and 6+ months client hardware experience -OR- 2+ years equivalent combination of education and functional / technical experience
* Ability to work overtime, including holidays and weekends, as scheduled
Other Qualifications
* Basic knowledge in at least three of the following:
* End-user computer device hardware
* Common 'off the shelf' software
* End-point security technologies
* Device networking (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi), Active Directory and Group Policy
* Mobility and remote access technologies
* Virtualization technologies
* Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with customers at all levels of technical understanding
* General understanding of infrastructure design, development and deployment
* Good interpersonal skills with issue resolution and conflict management abilities
* Effective analytical and problem solving abilities
* Ability to effectively follow established support procedures and document issues in the appropriate system(s)
