Job Description
Raytheon Technologies is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to support customer programs in Herndon, VA. The ideal candidate will have professional experience in the design, implementation, and administration of server and network infrastructure technology.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Working with Amazon Web Services or other public IaaS cloud platforms
Deploying and administering local and remote Linux and Windows workstations and servers
Performing system analysis to evaluate and refine system security postures
Researching, staging, and implementing new patches, rollouts, and upgrades for various applications and hardware to maximize integrity and efficiency of the system
Managing and maintaining multiple Active Directory implementations supporting users in multiple locations
Managing system security settings using Active Directory Group Policies
Creating and maintaining baseline images for servers and workstations, as well as VMs
Working closely with network engineers to design and maintain a highly secure infrastructure
Developing backup and recovery strategies for multiple systems, including databases and file servers
Required Skills
U.S. Citizenship
Must have a Current and Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
Must have a minimum of 10 years of related professional experience
Strong working knowledge of Information Security concepts and practices
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
Experience hardening Linux/Unix and Windows systems
Experience with a Virtual Machine such as VMware VDI environments
Scripting experience with tools such as Powershell, Bash, Python, and/or Perl
Knowledge of basic networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, VPNs, IDS, etc.)
Must have excellent communication skills and be able to support users both in-person and remotely
Must have strong organizational and time-management skills
Must have the ability to work well both in a team environment and independently
Desired Skills
Security-related certifications (SANS, GIAC, CISSP)
Experience with Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, MS SQL
Experience with NetApp storage area network (SAN) configuration and administration
Experience in automation of software deployments
Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols
Experience administering highly available (HA) environments (server clusters, farms, etc.)
Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an IT-related field.
