Our location in Irving, TX, currently has an opportunity for Sr. Reliability Engineer

WHAT YOULL DO

The Sr. Reliability Engineer will provide key technical expertise and guidance to the functional areas. Serve as primary technical representative for reliability analysis. Evaluate electrical, thermal and mechanical characteristics of complex diagnostic systems, components, sub-components and systems to determine root cause of failure.

* Analyze failure reports and recommend corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of problems.

* Support new process, product transfer and startup.

* Incorporate automation and improvement of failure analysis process.

* Ensure materials and failure analysis capabilities required to support advanced process technology and product development are in place.

* Interact with device and process development engineers to determine relationship of materials properties electrical performance and quality engineers assist in risk assessment.

* Define and review analytical equipment for both production and development.

* Complete sample analysis for equipment and process qualifications.

* Identify optimum analytical approaches critical to problems.

* Coordinate analytical resources to ensure rapid and accurate results for manufacturing ramp.

* Conduct innovative use of new analytical tools, equipment and methodologies.

* Develop, record and perform various failure analysis on systems and components to identify root cause.

* Develop formal failure analysis report data and findings of complaint and other groups after analysis completion.

Main Responsibilities:

* Provides technical expertise to the Reliability Laboratory. Analyzes failures, develops and implements investigative protocols to identify root causes, performs circuit analysis, performs device and component level failure analysis.

* Works with R & D to resolve reliability issues and monitors resulting corrective action.

* Reviews Product Analyses Reports, approving closure of files that meet company and regulatory requirements.

* Assures testing protocols are followed and are valid for desired results. Reviews documentation on reliability and qualification testing, determining if it fulfills the protocol design and meets company and regulatory standards.

* Supports Technical Services by answering technical questions concerning electrical/mechanical aspects of devices, status of tests, etc.

* Supports Risk Management activities, including analyzing field data to support new product development, and supporting Fault Tree Analysis and Failure Mode Effects Analysis.

* Trains technicians in the Reliability Laboratory.

* Resolves and/or facilitates the resolution of problems including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence.

* Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOULL BRING

Education

* Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

* An advanced degree or relevant certification preferred.

Experience

* 6+ years of experience in providing reliability support with a strong record of success.

* Previous experience in failure analysis as well as seasoned judgment acquired through organization experience in the medical device industry is highly desirable.

* Academic or in-house courses in project management, Six-Sigma, leadership, training, Total Quality Management (TQM), and various technical applications as noted above are also desired.

* Broad cross-disciplinary and in-depth knowledge of the reliability engineering profession.

* A documented record of delivering reliability engineering information which adds value to managements decision-making process is required.

* Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment. Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

* Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects. Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner. Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

* Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.
