Our location in Abbott Park (Lake County), IL currently has an opportunity for a Sr. Scientist to lead design control projects.
What Youll Do
* Designs and conducts experiments, accomplishes established milestones and summarizes data, interprets, results and draws conclusions.
* Evaluates data using analytical methodologies to achieve results.
* Recommends options for future experiments.
* Presents scientific observations to others.
* Trains lower-level scientists.
* Expertise and Problem Solving: Identifies technical alternatives.
* Utilizes multiple analytical instruments.
* Anticipates, recognizes and resolves technical problems.
* Project Planning: Participates in project planning, updates and process improvements.
* Implements project plans comprehending resource, budget, facility and regulatory requirements.
* Translates top-level goals to specific project level goals for individual team member.
* Establishes and reviews complex plans for multiple projects or activities.
* Plans resource allocation and distribution.
* Scientific Leadership: Submits ideas for inventions; publishes; innovates through patent filings and/or scientific publications.
* Perform FTO's (Freedom to Operate). Economic Profitability: Provide direction to project team to meet economic profitability (EP) profile for the project (product cost analysis).
* Lab Safety: Participates in lab safety.
* Documentation: Appropriately documents experimental procedures and results according to established guidelines.
Education And Experience Youll Bring
Required
* Ph.D. plus 2 years of research or industrial experience or B.S./M.S. with equivalency*. *Equivalency to Ph.D. defines as ability to hypothesize, design own experiments, draw conclusions and provide direction. Basic Computer Skills.
* Advanced Knowledge of multiple analytical instruments.
Preferred
* Add your preferred requirements.
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in medical device manufacturing industry.
* Previous design control experience e.g. authoring/coordinating design plans or document control
* Product Development experience/knowledge
* Experience with systems related to design planning/document control, e.g. SBM, ePAS, APLM, SAP, DMS
* Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.
* Capable of adjusting to dynamic working environment and changing priorities, and of ensuring timely completion of project tasks
