Designs, builds and tests automation equipment for urethane and rubber seal manufacturing facility. Leads and oversees the projects of the Automation team. Provides direction to the team in regard to the overall automated factory vision of the Business Unit. Provides sustaining engineering support to internal and external customers.
Designs, fabricates, modifies and evaluates automated equipment Performs development and/or test work which requires a comprehensive knowledge of product line and machine design. Compiles and evaluates design and test data, prepares technical specifications, analyzes technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for product specification. Analyzes, develops and recommends design approaches required to meet production requirements for existing, new or improved products. May review and approve drawings and specifications prepared by technical support personnel. Will assign work and direct the activities of Automation support staff as required. Manages a variety of risk and time varying projects Provides sustaining engineering support for all Automation equipment
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology with 5+ years of applicable experience. Machine design experience preferred. Proficient 3D CAD modeling skills required CAD/CAM experience a plus PLC / Ladder Logic experience a plus Software programming knowledge or experience a plus Fundamental knowledge of electronics and circuitry a plus
