Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Mission Engineer (ME) to Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The candidate will be the single point of contact for all aspects of engineering execution. The candidate rsquo;s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Oversees and manages the engineering design, development of software, systems, and hardware engineering.
* Drives the engineering process development, continuous improvement, and affordability initiatives within their programs.
* Serves as the engineering project team liaison to program management,customers, operations, and other functional groups.
* Manages risks and opportunities for all engineering scope.
* Collaborates with all functional organizations to resolve engineering conflicts.
* Communicates regularly with program management, customers, and engineering management.
* Owns overall quality, technical, budget, and schedule responsibility for the engineering content of assigned programs.
* Create and update detailed assembly drawings, rack elevations, network drawings and parts lists from candidates own design requirements. Determine from the general instructions those details required and identify/obtain additional information as required from the engineering team.
* Maintain System configuration control over SW/HW versions/configurations (network/computing/applications, automated environment creation.
* Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
* Evaluate and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
* Manage the requirements, design, and implementation for networks and End-to-End systems to Support Mission Operations, existing ground systems and upgrades - technology refresh, and reliability / maintainability.
* Product Deliveries include: ICDs, Emulator/Simulator baseline control, test plans, network diagrams, integration/deployment work instructions, production and test system hardware (e.g. networks).
* Individual must be willing to work outside of normally scheduled times, after hours support, and extended work days.
* Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days- a-week, and 365 days a year.
Qualification
Basic Qualifications for Senior Missions Engineer:
* Bachelor rsquo;s degree with 9 years of experience or 7 years of relevant experience with a master 39;s degree; 4 years with PhD.
* Candidates must have a current Active DOD Secret clearance granted or renewed within the last 6 years to be considered.
* Must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, a Special Access Programs (SAP/SAR) level clearance as a condition of continued employment.
* Must be able to maintain IAT Level 2 Security Certification (Security +, CySA+, CCNA Security, GICSP,GSEC, SSCP) or IAT DoD level 3 (CASP, CCNP-Security, CISA, CISSP,GCED, GCIH) or able to obtain and maintain within 6 months of start date.
* Individual must be willing to work outside of normally scheduled times, after hours support, and extended work days.
* Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days- a-week, and 365 days a year.
* Must meet medical requirements for worldwide travel. Must have and maintain a valid U.S. passport, accept customer furnished quarters for a period up to 120 days away from primary work location and comply with mobility requirements such as chemical warfare training and immunizations that may include anthrax and smallpox.
* Must have a valid driver rsquo;s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Current IAT Level 2 security certification.
* Active TOP Secret DOD Clearance or higher
* DoD 8570 IAT Level I Certification (Security+).
* Experience operating and troubleshooting information rsquo;s systems.
* ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
* Microstation, AutoCAD, and Photoshop software proficiency
* Must have experience designing, developing, building, testing and maintaining network and computing infrastructure
* Must have experience identifying systems anomalies and troubleshooting (network/custom applications/COTS software/server infrastructure)
* Must have knowledge of virtualization sustainment/maintenance.
* Must have hands-on experience with Networks to include technology such as: switches/routers/firewalls; RF appliances: modems, spectrum analyzers; computing infrastructure: Servers / workstations, Linux, M
