This position is in Balad Iraq.
F-16 Fuels/Hydrazine technician; provide advice, assistance, and OJT on inspection, troubleshooting, repair & maintenance of the fuel and hydrazine systems and associated components of F-16 aircraft. Will provide training, advice, installation, troubleshooting, repair & maintenance of the fuel and hydrazine systems and associated components at the organizational, intermediate and extended intermediate levels of maintenance.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/INFO: Must have strong communications and interpersonal skills. Must read, write and speak English fluently. Must have or be able to rapidly secure a DOD secret clearance. Regularly required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive movements, and perform work from ground level to overhead. This position requires frequent standing for long periods, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and twisting. Assignment location is in Iraq.
Include but not limited to light to medium construction activities such as assembling warehouse shelving and furniture in all areas of the maintenance complex. Candidates must be willing and able to participate in all set-up activities, assist with receiving and storing supplies and support equipment. The site will still be under construction at the time of the first arrivals. Environmental/weather conditions can be extreme during different seasons. Site is a secure compound which team members will be confined to. Flexibility, a positive attitude and excellent people skills are a must.
Candidates must have at least 4 years experience directly related to F-16 fuel/hydrazine systems. Must have held USAF certifications in hydrazine/special fuel handling and completed a USAF or equivalent qualification course on fuel systems maintenance and provide documentation of such. Should have a minimum of two years recent experience with fuel cell maintenance on the F-16. Experience on other aircraft will be considered.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must be a high school graduate or have completed an equivalent program.
Candidate must complete a pre-deployment medical exam that is designed to ensure that deployment to Iraq, which is an austere environment with limited medical care, does not pose a direct threat to others or the candidate themselves.
Candidate must have held a USAF skill level 7 (or equivalent) in his career field.
Candidate must have at least 4 years F-16 Fuel and Hydrazine experience.
Candidate must have at least 4 years experience with F-16 aircraft maintenance
Desired Skills:
A strong understanding of the maintenance process
Perform routine system troubleshooting, installation and repair.
Have a working knowledge of electronic and mechanical systems and components on the F-16 aircraft
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access)
Aircraft Mechanic / Aircraft craftsman A&P Lic.
Ground handling, minor maintenance, and servicing
