Scope of Position:
As part of the Corning Life Science (CLS) Market & Business Strategy Team, this role will be responsible for leading detailed market research and analysis on assigned customer, competitive, and market topics in support of business planning activities. Individual will be responsible for maintaining a source-based point-of-view on addressable market performance, category share, and competitive position. The project work, including but not limited to strategy development, will also be assigned as business needs require. Time will flex between ongoing market intel activities and project-based assignments.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
* Conduct market research primary and secondary related to existing or new business.
* Analyses include areas such as: market research, product preference, technology and product potential, market size, penetration, and trends.
* Scope includes regional and global views.
* Perform various analytics financial, comparative, etc. to develop understanding of market and competitive environment.
* Develop PowerPoint, models, and other necessary documents that effectively communicate results of efforts and recommendations to various leadership / stakeholders within CLS.
* Analyze and monitor market indicators (such as NIH budget funding etc.) and correlate performance with CLS performance; identify leading and lagging economic indicators.
* Track quarterly earnings performance of market participants and prepare report(s) on relevant findings for leadership.
* Lead biannual global market outlook process, including data collection, collaboration with regional stakeholders, and final report generation and delivery.
* Lead development of quarterly addressable market and competitive point of view for the division.
* Complete work goals are attained without appreciable supervisory direction. Completed work is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long-term perspective.
* Lead or contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in program delays and expenditure of resources.

* Timely delivery of high quality, accurate market analysis.

Required Education:
* Bachelors degree in Business, Biological Sciences, Engineering, or related field.
* MBA strongly preferred.
Required Years and Area of Experience:
* Minimum of 5+ years in market research or analysis within a technical environment.
