Job Description
Lincoln National Corporation seeks a Sr. Analyst, Business Analysis in Omaha, NE to provide subject matter expertise and direction for large-scale change initiatives, including change management and departmental and enterprise initiatives for the Group Protection (Insurance) business, in coordination with the Quality Acceptance and IT Development teams. Develop key business analysis process artifacts, using Swimlane diagrams, cross-functional flowcharts, and cause-and-effect diagrams, and thorough knowledge of Business Process Mapping and Notation (BPMN) standards. Collect, organize, and analyze large data sets for reporting purposes using SQL and Excel. Develop detailed test plans for business solutions across multiple business functions using JIRA, Version 1, or Excel. Perform business case development, impact analysis, requirement elicitation, process improvement, data analysis, and benefits realization to support strategic programs and project-related efforts for the business. Employ an understanding of the Group Protection (Insurance) business and organizational architecture knowledge, including the core group insurance value chain (product development, compliance/filing, distribution/sales, customer onboarding, service/claims, and finance), to coordinate significant change efforts through the use of detailed planning and execution methodologies such as Agile, Adaptive or Waterfall. Make recommendations for process improvements, reduction of workloads, and improvement in efficiency. Present frequently to senior leadership on recommendations, approach and progress for an initiative. Utilize structured requirement processes to articulate, document, and validate complex business requirements for business improvements. Advise and collaborate with key internal and/or external stakeholders to address complex business issues, determine root causes, capture business needs, and deliver assessment results to leadership via presentations. Track current and emerging computer and business software trends and assess their impact. Collaborate with management to incorporate new developments into current and future business solutions. Develop epics, features, user stories, ceremonies, and acceptance criteria using Agile Development Methodology in a Scrum team composition. May assist in facilitating the work of other analyst employees or contractors as needed on project basis. Possess experience with the core group insurance value chain, including product development, compliance/filing, distribution/sales, customer onboarding, service/claims, and finance. Possess experience using cost benefit analysis to quantify financial impact of proposed business changes and processes.
Requirements: Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any) or a closely related technical field and 5 years of experience performing business analysis. Experience must include: 3 years of experience developing key business analysis process artifacts, using Swimlane diagrams, cross-functional flowcharts, and cause-and-effect diagrams, and thorough knowledge of Business Process Mapping and Notation (BPMN) standards; and 2 years of experience: (I) with the core group insurance value chain, including product development, compliance/filing, distribution/sales, customer onboarding, service/claims, and finance; and (II) using cost benefit analysis to quantify financial impact of proposed business changes and processes.
