Citi is seeking a highly motivated attorney to join Citis Bank Regulatory Legal Group as an Assistant General Counsel. In that role, this attorney will provide U.S. bank regulatory advice to Citis businesses, including our Institutional Clients Group and Global Consumer Group, as well as other Citi domestic and foreign businesses.
The Bank Regulatory Legal Group provides advice and counsel on all aspects of Citi's legal, regulatory, and compliance obligations related to U.S bank and bank holding company matters. In doing so, the Bank Regulatory Legal Group advises Citi businesses on new and proposed regulations issued by the U.S. bank regulatory agencies. This attorney will be involved in the analysis and interpretation of new and proposed regulations and pending legislation. They will work with business partners, as well as colleagues across the Legal Department and other global functions, to help implement and coordinate the firms response to relevant rules and regulations. This attorney will also represent Citi in various trade associations, help advise upon and/or write comments letters in response to proposed regulations, and serve as a liaison with Citi's U.S. bank regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
* Juris Doctor degree is required
* Bar license in good standing to practice law
* 5+ years of legal experience with a large corporation, law firm, or government agency
* Bank regulatory or banking/financial industry experience preferable, but other regulatory or general corporate experience acceptable
* Excellent analytical and advocacy skills as well as the ability to write clearly and interact with business attorneys in a creative and productive manner
