Tamarack Farms Dairy was built in 1978. The plant is 140,000 sq. foot and it sits on 20 acres. The plant is home to an estimated 160 union, hourly, and management employees.

Tamarack Farms Diary is the largest fluid dairy in the state of Ohio, receiving over one million pounds of milk daily. We pride ourselves on being one of the lowest cost producers in the country. Tamarack produces over 100 items of fluid milk, cultured products, and beverages. Some of the products that we produce include sour cream, yogurts, milk (including chocolate), cottage cheese, bulk cream, orange juice, teas, apple cider. We also produce certified organic milk, yogurt, and sour cream products. Tamarack also has a blowmold department where we produce gallon and half-gallon bottles from resin.

Tamarack Farms Dairy supports about over 200 Kroger stores in Ohio and West Virginia, and three distribution centers in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. We are also the sole supplier of organic yogurt and sour cream products for all stores enterprise wide. We produce custom products for Graeters Ice Cream and Panera Bread as well. Tamarack Farms Dairy is committed to providing only the highest quality products manufactured in a safe and healthy work environment.

Tamarack is SQF Level 3 certified.

About the Position:

As a Kroger Manufacturing Quality Assurance Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn the science of large-scale food manufacturing through a 10-week program designed to help students in their professional development and provide hands-on real-world experience. Our programs are unique to the facilities that host them and provide specialized opportunities geared towards the needs of our salted nut and dry pack department.

As a Tamarack Farms Dairy QA Intern, you will be part of a small team that meets regularly via our virtual platforms for progress updates, professional support and coaching and presentations from a variety of Kroger leaders. Some of your essential functions as a Lab Technician Intern may include:

Projects:

- SQF validations / verifications of systems

- Computer File update (verify application, archive, alignment)

- Label / formula verification

- Sensory audit restructure
Tasks:

- Scanning COAs into system / creating sustainable system

- Research file use with lab techs / resolve location / integrity

- Review existing labels- validate label book

- Review formula / validate batching sheets, book

- Create interactive sensory audit that is sustainable / engaging

Essential Job Functions:

* Apply discipline specific principles through involvement in meaningful projects to expand technical and business skills. Disciplines include; HumanResources, Operations, Engineering, Sourcing & Procurement, Corporate Brands, Quality Assurance, Information systems and Finance.
* Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
* Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
* Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
* Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
* Current student actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in related field.
* 0 to 1 year of related experience.
* Basic math skills.
* Strong analytical ability.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to comprehend complex verbal and written instructions.

Desired Previous Job Experience

* Graduate degree in (discipline/s) preferred.
